School Nurse-LPNImmediate OpeningCenter for Spectrum Services is seeking an LPN to work full time at our Ellenville school. This is a 10 month/6-week will love working at Center for Spectrum Services with our team of professionals. We provide educational and related services to pre-school and school aged children on the autism are a nationally recognized day school for children with autism. Our staff of professionals provide educational and related services to young students in a small school environment. Essential Functions:Demonstrate familiarity with and adhere to state and federal regulations and policies (i. e. SED, Medicaid, Office of Children and Families).Communicate with school districts and county representatives as needed. Maintain ongoing consultations with physician's offices regarding students' health status. Coordinate the administration and handling of medication, including communication with child's caregiver to ensure prescribed medication form is signed by both prescriber and caregiver and that medication as ordered by the prescribing physician is available. Coordinating with parents and physicians to make sure that all students have fulfilled the New York State immunization requirements. Maintain current health records of all students. Abide by New York State Education Regulations regarding nursing services. Responsible for early detection of physical problems and health evaluations. Attend required meetingsComplete designated follow-ups. Assists in promoting programs on health-education and immunization. Coordinates vision, hearing, and orthopedic screening and health assessments. Provides emergency aid to students and school staff. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Basic knowledge of computer software. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Prolonged periods of standing, reaching, and bending. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Qualifications:Must have current NYS certification as LPN. Child and Adult CPR and AED certification required.
