**Lake Regional Healthcare is currently seeking Registered Nurses (RN) to deliver the best possible nursing care in LRH's patient-focused setting.**

**SUMMARY:**

Registered Nurse position to work within the Surgical Service Department including pre/post-surgical care as well as post anesthesia care unit. RN shall triage and initiate accurate ongoing assessments of physical and psychosocial problems of patients of all ages within the surgical care system as evidenced by computer documentation. Serves as Strong patient advocate and helps prepare the patient with preoperative education as well as assembly of the surgical chart. The surgery department cares for patients across the age spectrum from newborn to the geriatric population. The hours vary depending on the need of the surgery schedule. The position also takes a block call and holiday call rotation (if applicable for fulltime positions). The surgical specialties provided in the department but not limited to include plastics, ortho, podiatry, urology, OB/GYN, general, GI, and eye surgery.

**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:**

Associate degree or above in nursing. Six months RN experience required to work in Surgical Services. One year experience with cardiac monitoring is preferred.

**CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE &/OR REGISTRATIONS:**

Current RN license to practice in the State of Iowa. Current certifications for BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Mandatory Reporting of Child and Dependent Adult Abuse or completion in accordance with hospital Education Policy.
