**Lake Regional Healthcare is currently seeking a Pre-Authorization RN to deliver the best possible service promoting the aid of LRH's Central Scheduling Team and LRH.**

**SUMMARY:**

Pre-Authorization RN will coordinate with Pre-Registration and Scheduling staff in order to complete prior authorization for all services and procedures in an accurate, timely and sequential manner. Maintains overall responsibility for assuring receipt and processing of provider orders by Pre-Registration staff. Ensures that all supporting documentation is available and shared with payers to expedite authorizations. Coordinates with providers or nurse manager to ensure treatment/services meet medical necessity criteria. Processes appeals for claim denials due to the authorization process.

**EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:**

RN degree required. Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical interpretations, regulatory standards and compliance requirements preferred. Knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures preferred. Minimum 2-4 years of nursing or pre-authorization experience.
