Summary/Overview:
The Nurse Manager is responsible for organizing and managing patient care delivery and team members on a specific patient care unit during operational hours. This role involves leading daily operations, including managing human resources, the physical environment, supplies, and services to ensure an efficient, quality patient experience in collaboration with the Director. The Nurse Manager also provides specialized skills and knowledge related to the patient mix and functions of the unit. This position supports the organization's mission and philosophy and must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served, understanding the principles of growth and development over the lifespan. The role is primarily managerial (80%) with some clinical responsibilities (20%), which may vary depending on the span of control and number of unit managers.
