Salary: $40 - $50 / per hour
Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking a Nurse (RN) in the North Bay area to join our Home Health New Graduate Nursing Program. The Novice Nurse (< 12 months of experience) is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care in accordance with care developed for each individual patient in accordance with physician's orders when applicable.
Within this program, you will be gaining hands-on experience by working 1-on-1 with a patient within the home setting. You will have the opportunity to learn direct patient care, care management, vent/trach/g-tube management, and critical thinking with the 24/7 support of the clinical supervising team. Our goal is to best prepare our Novice Nurses for the nursing field, whether that be in Home Health, Pediatrics, ICU, Case Management, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Re-evaluates patient nursing needs regularly
Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care and/or contracted services
Initiates the plan of care when directed and requests from prescriber necessary revisions as patient status and needs change
Incorporates therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing actions based on nursing diagnosis and established goals
Assures patient safety at all times
Intervenes as applicable to changes in condition and reports such changes to appropriate supervisor and/or physician
Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, as well as, monitors and documents effectiveness of intervention
Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment including universal precautions
Reviews plan of care, program protocols and identifies areas for healthcare teaching/education, care coordination, goal setting and discharge planning needs as applicable
Documents all physician collaboration/coordination of care in the medical record and communicates this information as needed
Supports professional practice by observing the following;
Nurse Practice Act
Standards of Nursing Practice
Standards of Patient Care
Standards of Accrediting Body (ACHC, Joint Commission, etc.)
State and Local Laws
Patient Bill of Rights
Maxim Healthcare, Nursing, and Client's Policies
Adheres to Maxim policy and procedure and applicable protocols
Attends case conferences, team meetings, education in-services as required
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
License Required
A minimum GPA requirement is expected. Authorization from Area or Regional clinical leadership should be considered when hiring an applicant who does not meet a 3.0 GPA threshold
Complies with accepted professional standards and practice
Current BLS
PPD or chest X ray if applicable
Successful completion of Maxim Homecare Novice Nurse Program orientation and training
