Description
General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Basic medical nursing care concentrating on pediatrics (if possible/not necessary) and covid + patients
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)
BBraun Smart IV pumps, EPIC computerized charting, OMNIcell for medication
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
BLS med/surg nursing 1-2 years minimum
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
BLS
Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)
will never work alone, no call is required, scheduled shift 0700-1900 and 1900-0700, three days/week-at least, weekends required
Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)
may float to other departments within the med/surg area
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
24 beds private and semiprivate
Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)
dependent on type of care but typically days 1:5 and nights 1:6. could be less if working with covid + pts
Dress Code:
clean/appropriate scrubs

really only pediatric-type training but if not ped cerified (PALS/PEARS) will not care for that population
Additional Comments:
this is unit the primary unit for medical covid + patients which varies in census--also has typical medical patients
