Description
The RN Clinical Coordinator-OR is responsible for the daily management of the OR schedule; daily staffing requirements; and activities of the control desk. Plans staffing assignments, makes room assignments, and coordinates daily schedule activity. Facilitates staff, patient, surgeon, anesthesia, and case movement to provide optimum service and patient care. Communicates with physicians to advise on case status and room availability, and serves as point person for communicating with other departments to facilitate daily operations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required
Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program within 3 years of hire
Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within 5 years of hire
Two (2) to three (3) years of relevant acute care nursing experience required
Must have communication and problem solving skills and strong facilitative interpersonal skills
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Current licensure by the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
ACLS
Professional Certifications to support a culture of nursing excellence
