*Department/Unit Summary*

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Stress Lab is responsible for administering walking and Lexiscan (pharmacologic) stress tests, as well as placing cardiac Holter monitors. This role involves preparing and educating patients, performing tests, monitoring patient responses, and ensuring accurate documentation. The RN collaborates with cardiologists, technicians, and other healthcare team members to provide high-quality patient care.

*Key Responsibilities:*

· Provides patients with detailed cardiac education and helps patients establish goals for better quality of life.

· Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

· Documents patient care given.

· Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

· Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

· Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

· Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

· Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

*Qualifications and requirements*
Applicants should have a currentState of Tennessee or Multi-State Registered Nurse licensure and possess anAssociate's or Bachelor's degree or RN Diploma in Nursing.

Additional requirements include:

· BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be current upon hire

· ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required within 6 months of employment, if not current upon hire

· Must have minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience.

· Critical care experience - Preferred

· Cardiographics experience Perferred
