Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The Clinic RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members in an outpatient clinic setting. Clinic RNs are pivotal members of the care delivery team headed by the physician and have specialized knowledge, skills and ability pertinent to ambulatory care patient needs. Scope of performance includes prioritization and triage of care delivery, implementing established standing orders and protocols, performing procedures and therapies consistent with training and licensure. - Shift Details: Part time (24 budgeted hours). Two 12 hour shifts per week, 7:00 am - 7:30 pm. Days of the week will vary each week. Our Walk In Clinic is open 7 days per week.
- Unit/Location: West End Walk In but will work Laurel as well
Scope:1.Performs general nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures.
2. Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality.
3. Obtains and documents health history, information on chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors and assesses disease condition.
4. Provides patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations.
5. Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitor and document treatment progress and patient response. Refer to/consult with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns.
6. Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
7. Documents patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.
8. Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes.
9. Tracks quality assurance data and monitor for acute and chronic care management.Minimum Qualifications:Required:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required
- Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board is required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) is required
- One (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting is required
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred
