**Department: Float Pool**
**Daily Work Times: 7:00pm-7:30am - Satur**
**day, Sunday & Monday.**

**Position Summary:**
Ensures that quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Michigan Department of Public Health, the medical center and nursing department standards. Utilizing the nursing process, functions primarily in direct patient care. Participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment. Maintains patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality and respects patients rights. Begins leadership and preceptor participation when performance demonstrates ability.
**Essential Functions and Responsibilities:**
1.
Provides professional direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical telemetry setting
2.
Administers medications to patients
3.
Initiates and monitors IVs and medications
4.
Provides an accurate and complete nursing record
5.
Assesses patient condition using vital signs, test results, cardiac monitoring, etc.
**Qualifications:**
-Required:-
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Must possess valid State ofMichigan Nursing License
BLS certified within 3 months of hire
ACLS certified within 6 months of hire
Completed and is certified (up-to-date) in Basic Arrhythmia
-Preferred:-
Previous experience in acute care center
Telemetry experience
BSN in Nursing
