Minimum Qualifications COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: You must be reachable for appointment on the current Civil Service eligible list used for filling this MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and three years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Duties Description As a Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 duty based at the Newark Office in Newark, NY. This position will work closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Treatment Team Leaders to provide input on health related performance issues. Reviews criteria and regulatory standards for the Nursing Review Tool and Guidelines and assists in Implementing. Works closely with the Director of Nursing with any intervention or action needed. Works directly with the Director of Nursing to update/develop and implement nursing related policies and procedures, nursing programs, and nursing related training programs. Attend regular nursing personnel meetings and disseminate information as needed. Assist with administrative investigations, medication errors and other issues as assigned. Participates in and assist with regulatory review activities, coordinate, and provide mentoring for new nurses in the Finger Lakes region if the RN Supervisor 1 of the area needs assistance. Coordinate and assist in hiring process. Instructs nursing orientation and trainings related to NEO. This position will be assigned to assist and oversee New Employee Orientation medical screening for new employees. In addition, assist in coverage to Infection Control Nurse duties as needed. The RN Supervisor 1 will supervise the fit testing Registered Nurses and work in coordination with the DON to gain compliance of the Respiratory Protection Program. Provides technical assistance and consultative services to nursing and other FLDDSO staff. Policy updates and/or review as assigned by the DON. Data collection and entry is also required. Additional duties as assigned.
