Registered Nurse - RN - Post Anesthesia Care Unit - PACU
Experience success from day one as a Registered Nurse at a Pleasanton, CA facility that will equip you to succeed! On top of a $65-$68/hr pay rate, you will also enjoy a welcome orientation with a personal shadowing experience to help you acclimate to the facility. Enjoy a top-of-the-line EMR system to simplify care and a comfortable atmosphere to make your impact as a Registered Nurse. Key responsibilities include confirmation of patient information, starting IVs (this is a critical skill), and monitoring patients after the procedure where they are given a light IV sedative. This position is for one day a week, Thursdays, for a trial run of one month.

$520 - $544 /Weekly Gross

MORE ABOUT THE RN REGISTERED NURSE – PACU POST ANESTHESIA CARE UNIT POSITION:
CareerStaff Unlimited partners with companies around the country to raise the bar in healthcare by settings new standards for quality care and personalized services. Responsibilities for this Registered Nurse opportunity include, but are not limited to:
* Assess plans and evaluate the nursing care needs of the patient after a surgical procedure
* Provide post-operative nursing care, comfort and support to the patient undergoing surgical procedures
* Administer prescribed medications, apply dressings and monitor vital signs
* Maintain infection control policies and protocols while actively monitoring situations which could lead to a breach in those processes
* Ensure the proper handling of specimens
* Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
* Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems
* Evaluate, monitor and document the status of the patient during the recovery phase
* Incorporate a sense of wellness by allowing the patient's family to be reunited with him/her as soon as feasible and by encouraging self-care by the patient
* Provide discharge instructions to the patient and caregiver, asking for confirmation of understanding
* Perform follow up patient assessment by calling the patient the day after surgery
JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THE RN REGISTERED NURSE – PACU POST ANESTHESIA CARE UNIT:
* Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program is required.
* Maintains current BLS/CPR certification from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC).
* Must be currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing.
