Registered Nurse RN - Patient Advocate - Full-time, Days

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104
Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday
Department highlights:
Patient Advocate department for 833-bed MAGNET facility
Department processes 90-100 events per month
Level I Trauma Center
Primary Heart Attack Center PHAC
Comprehensive Stroke Center
Hospital services include cardiovascular care, high-risk obstetrics, gynecology, orthopedics and sports medicine, neonatal intensive care, and trauma/emergency medicine

Here's What You Need
Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
3-years acute care hospital experience required
Patient Advocate experience preferred
In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal),
strong organizational abilities, strong service orientation, sensitivity to patients needs
ability to deal with a variety of healthcare organization/delivery, satisfaction measurement, personalities w/tact & diplomacy, flexibility
Quantitative skills, expert computer skills including word processing, Survey Monkey, and database software. Presentation facilitation, and training experience
EPIC experience is helpful
Bilingual preferred
What You Will Do
Receives complaints and/or grievances directly from patients or others on the patient's behalf
Reviews, researches and evaluates complaints and grievances to determine appropriate response based on CMS guidelines and hospital policy.
Prioritizes concerns in multiple or complex issues.
Oversees referral, investigation, and resolution of complaints/grievances independently and coordinates response by involved departments.
Responds to government or regulatory complaints and responds to agencies as needed.
Serves as grievance coordinator for entity
Documents 100% of complaints and grievances received.
Participates in Patient Safety and Risk Management Operations by identifying potential liability in complaints received.
May also cross cover Risk Manager on occasion
