As an experienced Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) or Procedural Department Registered Nurse (RN) in the Outpatient Surgery Center's PACU, you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to pre- and post-operative patients, monitoring patients' health, assessing patients' pain levels, administering medication and maintaining up-to-date patient records. The RN will use their strong assessment skills to collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to provide the best outcomes for each patient. This role plays an integral part in ensuring patient advocacy, safety, and education. On this nursing team, you will feel supported and appreciated for the knowledge you have to share and have access to our advanced technology and research to ensure all patients receive world-class care.
**The hours of this per diem position are 8-hour day shifts, 6am-2:30pm and 8am-4:30pm, with flexibility to adjust hours as needed.** No weekend or on-call shifts are required. A minimum of 48 hours per six-week schedule is required. **A MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR RN EXPERIENCE IN A PACU or PROCEDURAL AREA IS REQUIRED.**
**Required qualifications include:**
**Has a minimum of one year of RN experience in PACU or procedural department (REQUIRED).**
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.
Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN).
Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) must be presented upon hire.
Communicates effectively with patients and team members.
Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Can critically think and problem solve for patients' best interests.
Can provide emotional, spiritual, and psychological support to patients.

**Physical Requirements:**
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
**Personal Protective Equipment:**
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
