Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Nurse IV - Nursing Supervisor to join our Prenatal Diagnosis Center. This role requires a highly skilled nursing professional who can perform and oversee a wide range of clinical and supervisory duties. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional clinical skills, and a commitment to delivering the highest standard of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Supervision:

Provide both direct and indirect patient care services.

Supervise all nursing staff, ensuring adherence to the Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements.

Perform and oversee duties such as NSTs, rooming patients, administering medications, performing phlebotomy, and chaperoning sonographers and physicians.

Assistive Duties:

Assist physicians in procedures such as CVS and AMNIO.

Coordinate scheduling during holiday weekends or for add-on NSTs.

Provide patient education and answer phone calls or inbox questions from patients.

Communicate using SBAR to Labor & Delivery (L&D) for patient transfers.

Manage outdated supplies to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Communication & Coordination:

Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and staff regarding patient care or scheduling.

Use SBAR to update charge nurses when patients need to be transferred to L&D.

Follow the chain of command to address any arising situations.

Documentation:

Apply CSLink, OBIX, and AS Software for patient documentation.

Ensure timely documentation of patient progress using PatientTrak.

Take pride in documenting in real time or as soon as possible.

Emergency Communication:

Communicate verbally with MDs if something is urgent or emergent.

Professional Development:

Continue professional education by taking courses, certifications, and CEUs.

Attend various meetings (nursing, staff, Magnet ambassador, and unit practice council membership).

Provide feedback to improve the patient experience.

Staff Recruitment & Training:

Collaborate with the Associate Director to recruit nursing staff.

Onboard, train, support, and provide necessary disciplinary action related to nursing staff.

**Qualifications**

License/Certifications:

Current, unrestricted California RN License required

Specialty certification required (or willing to obtain within one year from start date)

BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required

License/Certification/Registration Requirements: CA RN License; Certification-Electronic Fetal Monitoring required within 12 months of hire;

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in a prenatal diagnosis/high risk obstetrics ambulatory clinic that involves coordination of care required

At least 1 - 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.

Experience doing non-stress testing in either inpatient or outpatient setting

Supervisory experience preferred
