Responsible for oversight, implementation and quality assurance of all medical and health related services provided to residents.
Salary: $91,000
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Report significant findings to physician and Program Manager for follow up.
Observe each resident requiring a nursing care plan for signs of illness or dysfunction and document status in Monthly progress Notes.
Develop nursing care plans for residents whose routine health care requires service that can only be performed by a health professional. Complete quarterly reviews and assessments.
Attend IDT meetings in order to participate in habilitation planning for residents.
Monthly progress notes completed by the tenth of the month for the preceding month, accurately prepared and submitted by the Registered Nurse to the Residence Manager.
Accurate preparation of monthly medication and diet orders completed and submitted to physician no later than one week prior to the stop date on current order.
Nursing care plans prepared annually and reviewed monthly, with progress noted in quarterly reports and revised if necessary in accordance with changing daily health care needs.
Transmit medication and diet order sheets to physician for signature for each 30 day medication cycle.
Obtain prescriptions and immediately check against medication order sheets for accuracy.
Complete pourings and initial medication administration certification process.
Complete annually all recertifications of approved medication administration personnel.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Licensed to practice in the State of New York (Registered Nurse)
Bachelor's Degree
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Specialized experience in the diagnosis and treatment of developmentally disabled persons.
Employee must be computer-literate and must have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

May be required to travel between local sites.
