**Overview**

Fairview Health Services is looking for a collaborative Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Maple Grove Ambulatory Surgery Center team located in Maple Grove, MN. ?The RN will work in the endoscopy, GI and pre/post procedural areas. This is a 0.8 FTE position that is benefit eligible. The Surgery Center is open Monday- Friday between the hours of 6:30am and 4:00pm. Shift start time vary based on need.

Fairview Maple Grove Ambulatory Surgery Center is a partnership with University of MN Physicians where you will find more than 20 medical specialties in one convenient location. Our patients have access to primary and specialty care for pediatrics and adults which also includes a cancer center, breast center and the ambulatory surgery center. We have 4 Endoscopy Procedure rooms.?

**Responsibilities Job Description**

The primary function of the Endoscopy Nurse is that of a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability through the nursing process, for the per-procedural care of endoscopy patients and significant others in collaboration with other health care providers.

Possesses knowledge of and the ability to perform duties in accordance with established standards for Endoscopy Unit practices as set forth in the system GI policies and procedures.

Monitors patient's airway and circulation with the assistance of applied monitoring equipment.

Monitors equipment, fluid lines, tubes, drains and catheters as needed.

Administers drugs ordered by physician and handles drug related problems that occur.

Makes independent clinical decisions regarding patient's need for nursing care and communicates with appropriate personnel.

Demonstrates skills and knowledge in IV therapy, medication administration and its effects; possesses ability and knowledge of Conscious IV sedation.

Administers IV medications as per doctor order. Insures accurate labeling and documentation of patient specimens.

**Qualifications**

**Required**

Graduate of professional nursing program.

2-year endoscopy experience or procedural experience

Current MN Nursing License

ACLS

**Preferred**

SGNA Certification
