Description

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

HFMC-Cottage Emergency Department is located on the first floor of Henry Ford Medical Center-Cottage Campus. The unit consists of 12 private rooms, including 2 negative pressure rooms which can be used for isolation, and 2 semi-private rooms. All of the rooms are hardwired for cardiac monitoring and are attached to a central monitor at the nurse's station. One of the private rooms is equipped with a video monitor and can be used as a quiet room for patients awaiting psychiatric evaluation. The Emergency Department provides medical care 24 hours a day for patients of all ages . The Emergency Department also has the capability of bedding patients for 23 hour observation/CDU. The Emergency Department is approved to accept Level 3 patients via EMS through DEMCA. Support services for the Emergency Department includes:

24-hour Radiology Services

24-hour CT Scan

24-hour on-call Ultrasound

24-hour Laboratory Services

Shift: Midnights (11PM-7:30AM)

Rotating Every other Weekend

Benefit Status: Part Time

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

BSN preferred.

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.

Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.

Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Must have at least 1-year previous ED RN experience.

Must have great customer service skills.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.

Must have ACLS and BLS (or within 1 month of hire).

Knowledge of EPIC ASAP preferred.
