Hospital Registered Nurse
Job Description
As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide safe, competent quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others. Your role involves delivering patient care by incorporating the tenets of Relationship Centered Care and through the application of the nursing process based on theory, research, evidence-based practice, and approved organizational nursing standards. You will assess and evaluate patient care needs, apply critical thinking skills in patient care management, and integrate assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care. Prioritize all aspects of patient care including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning 'after hospital care' and delegating to others as appropriate. You will also educate patients and caregivers, anticipating needs and readiness to learn about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease. Effective and professional communication with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team is essential.
Hard Skills
NYS RN License
BLS from American Heart Association
Min 2 years RN experience
Epic system experience preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred, Associate degree in nursing considered with relevant experience

Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in New York, New York in a hospital setting. Departments include: Medsurg, ICU, SICU, PICU, PACU, Emergency Department, Outpatient, Ambulatory, Employee Health
Work Environment
Fast-paced environment with a training and orientation session in the first week. Nurses are expected to perform duties of the role efficiently. Shifts usually cover 12 hours, 3 times per week including day and night shifts. Departments and schedules may change daily.
