**Work location:** Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave Fort Worth TX 76104
**Work hours** : PRN (7p-7a) Rotating Weekend and holiday requirements

Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
35 bed Orthopedic Trauma/ Joint Replacement Unit in the brand new Justin Tower- Care for patients with joint replacements but may include ortho procedures with a variety of concurrent medical issues such as CHF, COPD, asthma, diabetes, renal failure. This is the dept where the most effective improvements of patients are seen.
Work along side several top 100 Nurse recipients
**Here's What You Need**
Associate degree or Nursing Diploma required
BSN preferred
One-year experience as a clinical nurse in acute care setting required
2+ years of Med/surg or Orthopedic RN experience in acute care setting (preferred)
RN Registered Nurse upon hire required.
Current BLS (required) - prior to providing independent patient care required.
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days required.
CPI training within 60 days of hire (required)
Strong med/surg experience including charge/preceptor skills (preferred)
ONC - Orthopedic Nurse Certified within 2 years (preferred)
NIHSS - National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification 6 Months Required
NICHE - Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders within 12 Months(preferred)
**What You Will Do**
The Charge Nurse
Will communicate and collaborate with all members of the health care team
Support and actively participate in shared governance/councils committed to developing their individual knowledge and skills, as well as advancing the profession of nursing and engaging in lifelong learning/development.
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
