**UW Medical Center-Montlake - 6 SE Orthopedics** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Patient Services Specialist .**

**WORK SCHEDULE**

40 hours per week

Monday - Thursday

Evening Shift, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM **POSITION HIGHLIGHTS**

The PSS provides patient-focused care through the use of customer service strategies **DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION**

6SE Medicine/Orthopedics is an acute care medical-surgical unit specializing in general Medicine and Orthopedic patients

We are dedicated to competent, compassionate patient and family centered care for adult patients who are acutely ill or injured and in varying stages of recuperation **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**

Communicate effectively with medical staff, patients, visitors, and other medical center departments to facilitate patient care

Coordinate unit activities by acting as the communications center for the nursing unit

Handle all unit paperwork, including chart maintenance and patient information, etc.

Triage telephone calls

Greet, check in, and check out patients

Access and enter information in computer programs

Exercises independence in the planning and accomplishment of a wide spectrum of clerical duties

Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment

Partner in the orientation and training of professional and support staff, nursing and medical students, and other Patient Service Specialists **REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**
High School graduation or equivalent AND one year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience OR equivalent education/experience.
