Douglass Residential College, a part of Rutgers University - New Brunswick, is an innovative undergraduate higher education institution specifically for women.

The opportunity to teach with Douglass Residential College is an opportunity to teach within the Department of Women's and Gender Studies where the course is housed.

The course is foundation for all students at Douglass, and it is a requirement for students who enroll in the College.

Teaching with Douglass is a collaborative and meaningful experience where instructors interact with each other and with the peer mentor assigned to their courses.

Requirements include the following.

oTeach one 3.0 undergraduate courses, Knowledge and Power: Issues in Women's Leadership.
oMeet all course times/dates.
oAttend 1 orientation, 2 required workshops, 4 required plenaries, and 1 breakfast.
oPlan and prepare lessons.
oGrade assignments within 48 hours and return the grades with comments and rubrics to students via Sakai or related platform.
oMeet with the assigned student mentor, the Barbara Voorhees Mentor, as needed.
oMeet with students enrolled in the course as needed.
oAdhere to the common syllabus. Post the syllabus on Canvas before your first class meeting.
oAdhere to course, department, college, and university procedures.
oMaintain up to date grades and records on Canvas for student access.
oSubmit midterm warning grades by the published deadline.
oSubmit final grades to the Assistant Dean and/or Douglass Course Director via email and to the University via REGIS 48 hours after your class ends.
oCollaborate with Douglass Residential College and the Department of Women's and Gender Studies as needed.

*Master's degree and expertise in Women's and Gender Studies or closely related field
*commitment to or experience in Women's and Gender Studies and the status of women
