Your Specific Responsibilities:

Maternal Child Health

Serves as the Maternal Child Health Program Coordinator for DOH-Volusia and is responsible for coordinating all internal maternal child health programming including assisting program managers with aligning programmatic objectives with maternal child health needs in Volusia County. Ensures all internal MCH efforts are documented in the MCH Workplan. Serves as a contract manager for contracted services associated with health equity funding. Ensures all internal MCH efforts are documented in the MCH Workplan. Manages the Tobacco Free Florida Moms and Babies Collaboration and the Baby and ME Tobacco Free Program. Manages MCH related contracts as needed.

Healthy Start Partnership

Submits Quarterly Reports and invoices to the Healthy Start Coalition by the 20th of each month following the new contract year (July 1st through June 30th) with completion by the 15th of each month for the Department's review. Ensures that each report contains information on Provider Errors, Non-Resident Screens, Resident Screens by Out of County Providers, Screen Declines, Quarterly Internal Screening Reports, and Quarterly Resident Birth Reports. Submits Annual report (consists of the Quarterly Reports) by the 15th of the month for submission on the 20th of the month after the contract year has ended on June 30th. Informs the Healthy Start Backup of trends, trains Back-Up staff and attends trainings, Healthy Start quarterly meetings, and/or WIC staff meetings as designated by supervisor. Keeps Contract Manager informed of supplies (Copy Paper, Risk Screening Instruments, Office supplies) needed to effectively perform Healthy Start Program duties by the 1st of each month.

Community Engagement

Actively participates in the Volusia-Flagler Breastfeeding Coalition fulfilling the duties of the lead agencies. Actively participates in community meetings related to Healthy Babies/Healthy Families, family planning, preconceptual care to facilitate linkage to services. Implements and documents Florida Healthy Babies deliverables and attends Florida Healthy Babies and MCH conference calls. Assist DOH-Volusia with the coordination and facilitation of the Volusia County Community Health Assessment process. Provides trainings to staff and community related to Maternal Child Health (MCH), injury prevention/harm reduction strategies, culturally competent care and interventions and other topics as directed.

Injury Prevention/Safe Kids Florida

The incumbent assists with Injury Prevention program and Safe Kids Florida - Volusia/Flagler Local Coalition. Assists with implementation of associated outreach events and initiatives, submitting reports and meeting grant deliverables. Assists with stakeholder sponsorship and marketing opportunities. Assists with scheduling and coordinating outreach events, complies with grant deliverables, and provides timely reports upon request. Conducts and/or oversees presentations on Safe Kids and injury prevention programs and provides data to a wide range of audiences.

Submit time sheet and EAR entry within the required time frame.

Subject to emergency duty in the event of a natural disaster.

Completion of all mandatory trainings within the required time frame.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to plan, organize and complete assigned work and prioritize work duties as needed.

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows-based business software applications, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Qualifications:

5 years experience in Public Health or bachelor's degree.

Possess a valid, unrestricted State of Florida driver's license.

Willing to work evening and weekend hours.
