Why work as Oncology Financial Navigator at Munson Healthcare?

A s a n Oncology Financial Navigator in our Cancer Services Department , you will support newly diagnosed cancer patients by rendering financial counseling and identifying all possible public and private funding sources to help them financially along their journey.

You will work closely with the Cancer Treatment Team in developing a plan of care with attending to the financial implications of timing of medical intervention on the patient and healthcare provider.

You will develop relationships with Physicians and Hospital Staff , educating them about Cancer Financial Navigator services and encouraging early referral of newly diagnosed, uninsured or under insured cancer patients.

What's Required:

Bachelors Degree in Business or similar management/ organizational effectiveness program is required OR Li censed as a Social Worker in the State of Michigan. Bachelor's Degree in Social work from a CSWE (Counsel on Social Work Education) accredited college or university is required. Master's Degree in Social Work is preferred.

Two to five years of experience in an acute care setting working with the financial needs of patients is preferred.

An understanding of cancer care and treatment is preferred.
