Description

Summary: The Nursing Informatics Specialist demonstrates passion and enthusiasm for informatics, supporting the Health Informatics vision and strategic goals of Parkview Health. Assists in the operation and administration of clinical information systems as liaison on behalf of clinical and technical co-workers to enhance workflow methodology and tools. Maintains an end-user centric focus when contributing to the system; to include analysis, testing, documentation, education, implementation, evaluation and optimization activities to enhance technology adoption and efficiencies that improve workflow, patient safety, and patient experience. Provides ongoing support and is proactive in identifying opportunities for clinical information system improvement and knowledge sustainment. Utilizes project planning to guide complex projects through to successful completion. Understands workflows impacting Clinicians and build requirements for the EHR and associated 3rd party applications. This position involves rounding and project support at various hospitals. Will receive training and complete the process to obtain Epic Credentialed Trainer status and certifications in Epic.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's in Nursing Informatics, strongly preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Valid Registered Nurse License required for the State where services will be provided. Valid Driver's License. Must obtain Epic Credentialed Trainer status in relevant EHR modules within 6 months of hire. Additional certifications may be suggested.

Experience: Minimum requirement of 4 years' experience in clinical/healthcare setting including clinical applications experience or certification in informatics. Clinical practice experience and clinical documentation knowledge. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office product and current Health Information System (HIS) platform recommended. Strong knowledge of clinical information systems, data management and administration. Knowledge of hospital practices and procedures as well as laws, regulation, and guidelines pertaining to standards of practice and regulatory requirements. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Ability to understand and address process requirements. Skilled at problem solving, organization, strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to understand complex issues. Knowledge of EHR and data analytics preferred. Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbal, with providers, co-workers, executives, technical teams, end users or any other stakeholder. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in an ever-changing and fast paced environment.
