Job Description
Under the Director of Nursing, the Nurse Manager oversees clinical and operational management of nursing units, ensuring standards of practice and patient care are maintained. They develop and implement departmental plans, supervise unit activities, and prepare necessary reports.
Key responsibilities include:
Collaborating with the DON to set and evaluate unit goals.
Acting as a liaison between nursing administration and medical staff.
Developing staffing plans and schedules, ensuring adequate coverage, and approving overtime.
Hiring, supervising, and evaluating staff, including disciplinary actions and terminations.
Ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
Overseeing quality assurance programs and addressing patient care issues.
Assisting in budget development and monitoring budget performance.
Providing clinical and management support to staff.
The Nurse Manager also ensures effective communication within the department and assists in developing cost accounting methodologies for nursing care.

Skills and Requirements
Registered Nurse
Bachelors or better in Registered Nurse
IV Therapy
BLS
Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement principles.
Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, state and federal regulatory guidelines.
2 years of Supervisory experience.
5 years of Psychiatric clinical nursing experience null
