**Responsibilities**

**Job Summary:**

Provides formalized education to future parents and families preparing them for the birth and

care of their newborn. Maintains the course roster, provides on- site education and offers

evaluation of the course for future planning. Classes may include but are not limited to

breastfeeding, newborn care, prepared childbirth, & sibling classes. Provides on site tours of

the maternity unit.

**Responsibilities:**

1. Conducts classes within the defined curriculum.

2. Keeps accurate class logs and submits information to the Manager/Supervisor.

3. Conducts classes in an orderly and timely manner. Starts promptly and finishes on time.

4. Maintains competence and instructional skills through attendance of continuing

education programs or specialty certification.

5. Provides maternity tours at designated locations and times.

6. Reviews/revises curriculum with Manager/Supervisor as needed.

7. Maintains knowledge of campus protocols as they relate to the care of the mother and

newborn.

**Qualifications**

**Qualifications:**

Minimum of a high school degree. Preferred

experience in the field of education or obstetric

experience as CNA, OB Tech or LPN or inactive RN

with previous obstetric experience.

**Pay Range**

$17.04 - $23.43 /hour
