South Pointe Hospital's Observation Unit is looking to add an LPN to their multi-disciplinary team of caregivers. Known for their excellent assessment skills, caregivers in this unit provide care to and observe patients requiring expedited evaluation to determine the appropriate inpatient/outpatient intervention. You will experience endless learning opportunities caring for diverse populations of adult patients in a fast-paced environment with a high patient turnover rate.
**A caregiver in this position works Days, from 7:00am-7:30pm.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Collect, document and report patient data and observations.
Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
Perform routine laboratory tests.
Educate patients and family members.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of patient care experience.

**Physical Requirements:**
Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.
Involves extensive standing and walking.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
**Personal Protective Equipment:**
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
