Job Title: Licensed Practical NurseJob Description
Our Client is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to be an integral part of their clinical team. The LPN will provide safe, evidence-based care for patients, offer exceptional support, and anticipate the needs of both clinicians and patients. Note that contractors will not be left alone with individuals under the age of 18. Duties/Responsibilities: - Process X-Ray orders. - Process prescription refills faxed from pharmacies and monitor office prescription refill line. - Perform monthly checks for the crash cart. - Complete DCF forms. - Read, record, and process all cultures. - Monitor clinician's schedules and report concerns to a manager. - Monitor and complete tasks for all offices in EHR. - Scribe with clinicians (as requested). - Review and prioritize phone and task messages for physicians. - Answer patient questions and respond to requests. - Educate patients on asthma medications, equipment, EpiPen, treatments, etc. - Review charts for transfers, medication requests, etc. - Reorder vaccines, medicine, or oxygen as necessary. - VCF ordering and supply monitoring. - Conduct lab tests and procedures. - Triage incoming calls and tasks from the call center based on urgency. - Handle clinical support faxes. - Retrieve and process messages from overnight and off-hours service. - Monitor injection list. - Comply with all HIPAA and OSHA regulations. - Maintain clean and orderly work areas. - Assist with phone calls in the clinical area. - Comply with all PHA policies and procedures. - Regular and prompt attendance is required. - Perform other duties as assigned.
Hard Skills
Graduated from accredited LPN or RN program. Current License in Good Standing in Connecticut.
Previous nursing experience (preferably in pediatrics) is preferred.
Computer skills (working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite preferred).
Knowledge of EHR software is preferred.
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Fairfield, Connecticut.
Work Environment
The candidate will work at one of four locations: Fairfield, Trumbull, Stratford, or the person. All offices are within 15-20 minutes of each other. The schedule is 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with one day a week from 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM. Candidates receive one day off during the week after a 12-hour shift and must be available to work one weekend a month. Weekend hours are Saturday from 8:30 AM - 3:45 PM and Sunday from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM.
