UPMC Cole Medical Group is currently hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Cole Memorial Medical Group. This is a casual (per diem) position working 8-hour days, Monday through Friday, from 7:00am to 6:30pm, with no weekends or major holiday commitments. **Purpose:**
Provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.
**Responsibilities:**
*Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
*Performs other duties as assigned.
· Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
· Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
· Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
· Comply with all policies and procedures.
· Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i. e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
· Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
· Draw blood.
· Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
· Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
· Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
One year of clinical experience preferred.
**Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**
· CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
· Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
