Description
Supplements the nursing care needs of the client as provided by the Registered Nurse
and includes:
a. Providing services in accordance with agency policies.
b. Preparing clinical and progress notes.
c. Assisting the Registered Nurse or physician in performing specialized procedures
and duties.
d. Assisting the Registered Nurse in carrying out the plan of care.
e. Assisting the client in learning appropriate self-care techniques.
f. Ensures quality and safe delivery of home health care services.
g. Implements current nursing practice.
h. Fulfills additional performance responsibilities as assigned and as necessary.
i. Promotes effective written/verbal communication.
j. Gives accurate information to clients and client families regarding costs for home
health care services.
k. Provides information regarding equipment and supply needs of the home health
care agency.
l. Uses equipment and supplies effectively and efficiently.
m. Participates in in-service programs approved by the home health care
administration.
n. Complies with home health agency policies and procedures.
o. Promotes and maintains an agency environment that is in compliance with federal
state, and local regulatory agencies
p. Promotes education for home health care staff members.
q. Promotes education for clients, client families, and the community.
r. Participates in personal professional growth and development.
s. Completes all required documentation in accordance with the standards of the
agency, and regulatory requirements.
t. Works effectively with the medical staff, other members of the health care team
