Position Details :

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Infectious Disease Pharmacist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have specialized training in infectious diseases (PGY2 training or equivalent experience) and be adept at managing complex infectious disease cases, providing antimicrobial stewardship, and supporting our multidisciplinary healthcare team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility and contribute to the well-being of our community through expert pharmaceutical care. This position is a full-time (1.0 FTE) clinical specialist position with a required every 4th weekend clinical staffing rotation.

Key Responsibilities for this position include clinical and educational responsibilities such as advancing, developing and implementing antimicrobial stewardship programs to optimize antibiotic use and reduce resistance, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and review patient care plans and Educate healthcare professionals, including medical residents, nursing staff, and pharmacy students/residents on infectious disease management and antimicrobial stewardship. Additionally, it would be the expectation for the pharmacist in this role to be actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and healthcare practices within the hospital along with proactive review of antimicrobial utilization trends along with ongoing review of days of therapy and patient days throughout the Parkview Health System.

The candidate must have strong clinical knowledge and experience in infectious disease pharmacotherapy and antimicrobial stewardship as well as excellent communication, collaboration, and teaching skills. This individual will need the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary healthcare environment and handle stress of busy daily operations with a self directed and motivated personality to provide excellent care to our patients.
