**Essential Functions and Responsibilities**
**:**
1. Provides educational leadership to care providers to enhance patient care within established clinical protocols.
2. Assists caregivers with educational needs and problem resolution.
3. Initiates clinical skills development programs within the parameters of established clinical and preceptor models; monitors trends and implements educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters.
4. Educates technical and patient care staff in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordinates in-service training and workshops for appropriate staff.
5. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
6. Acts as a resource or consultant to individuals, groups and departments institution-wide and seeks consultation with outside experts to achieve patient goals.
7. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
8. Complies with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
9.
Performs other related duties as required and directed.

1. Thorough knowledge and understanding of clinical protocol, procedures, and standards of nursing.

Competency in applying the principles, methods, materials and equipment necessary in
providing nursing educational services.
7.
Advanced nursing skills.
8.
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
9.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
10.
Ability to manage individuals with different types of personalities.
11.
Current knowledge of treatment theories, practices and techniques per discipline.
12.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and policy and procedures manuals.
13.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

**Knowledge and skill with common office software applications.**
15.
Compliance with the Code of Ethics and Guide for Professional Conduct.
**Qualifications:**
**-Required:-**
* Certification in ACLS and PALS obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
* Instructor certification with AHA or ARC in BLS, ACLS, and PALS obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
* Able to work under minimal supervision
* Able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action as required
* Dept specific competencies are detailed in the unit/dept scope of service
**-Preferred-**
* Master's degree in nursing or related discipline
* Three years' recent Tele/ICU/Critical Care/ED nursing experience
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in teaching or precepting experienced and inexperienced Nursing staff and Nursing students.
* Competency in Critical Thinking and Decisive Judgment
