$64.583 - $83.333 - $102.083

**What You Will Do**

Director Rehabilitation Services oversees, directs and supervises the day-to-day operations of the Rehabilitation Services Department. The Director is responsible for overall supervision, coordination and administration of the department activities. Provides specialized services at the request of physicians, employers and insurance carriers. Provides program development to meet the needs of the community we serve and the organizational goals and objectives. Works with the executive staff to provide SRS with a clear direction for future patient care and business decisions including future objectives, facility development, and fiscal responsibility. Promotes the Sharp HealthCare culture throughout the Rehabilitation Services Department.

Develops fiscal year budgets and monitors expenses as well as cost per unit of service and staff productivity to meet budget expectations. Works with the Finance Department and the Vice President of Programs and Ancillary Services as well as other Sharp or community staff and physicians to shape services to fit the assessed needs. Recruits, hires develops and supervisors new staff in various areas of responsibility including Rehabilitation Services leadership positions.

Oversees, directs and supervises the development and maintenance for the multiple Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy clinics for Sharp Rees Stealy all over San Diego County. Acts as a liaison between all Rehabilitation Services and Administration, Medical Staff, Nursing Staff and the community.

**Required Qualifications**

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program, Occupational Therapy program, Speech Therapy program, business administration, or management in health care.

8 years of experience specific to Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy practice.

**Essential Functions**

**Leadership/Employee Management:** Provides leadership and guidance to staff to ensure high levels of teamwork, efficiency, and service delivery. Conducts regular team meetings to keep staff informed regarding organizational or departmental issues, to communicate policies and procedures, to problem solve, and provide training as needed. Provides leadership and guidance to the staff and department to maintain our journey to become an HRO organization based on principles of Safety, Just Culture and Six Sigma. Conducts 90 day and annual performance appraisals in a timely manner. Encourages high performing employees and coaches/provides corrective action for other employees to improve performance.

**Financial Performance:** Develops and adheres to annual budget for all cost centers with the assistance of the Finance Department. Budgets for future development and maintenance of the Rehabilitation Services Department including staff levels and salaries. Plans and budgets for future equipment and facilities costs including growth and maintenance. Manages staff schedules and staffing levels to maintain cost control. Recommends and implements changes in areas of responsibility in order to meet cost per unit of service goals, i. e. changes in fees, staffing, equipment, etc.

**Programs and Service Development:** Participates in the preparation of proposals, policies and procedures in response to formal or informal requests for proposals and or policies and procedures. Independently completes and submits proposals, policies and procedures related to Rehabilitation Services Department projects or programs. Participates in the development of internal and external Rehabilitation Services Department marketing and program development plans in conjunction with the Vice President of Programs and Ancillary Services and the Medical Director. Brings forward to appropriate leadership business development opportunities. Coordinates efforts with the Marketing staff to assist in developing new business. Participates all activities to promote the use and quality of the services provided by Rehabilitation Services Department. Participate in all activities to meet the needs of the physicians of the SRS Medical Group and community. Represent the department at all applicable professional meetings. Represents or coordinates the representation of the SRS Rehabilitation Services Department in the professional PT, OT and SLP community including professional education and training.

**Clinical Service Delivery:** Coordinates the Rehabilitation Services Department to meet the outpatient Physical Rehabilitation Therapy community needs. Services provided include all outpatient Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Pediatric Rehabilitation. Serves as a resource to the all SRS entities, employees and groups for services provided by the Rehabilitation Services Department and other specialized areas of program development. Coordinates SRS Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy Student Programs.

**Communication:** Maintains effective written and verbal communication with physicians, nurses case managers, insurance carriers, departmental and organizational staff in order to meet program goals. Communicates in a timely manner with Administrative Support Coordinator regarding float staff coverage, equipment or supply needs, etc.

**Quality:** Monitors the quality of services provided through direct communication with customers and Press Ganey surveys. Develops and implements action plans to improve quality of services and customer satisfaction when needed.

**Safety:** Assures that all staff complies with SRS and departmental safety policies and procedures. Serves as a departmental and organizational resource related to injury prevention and safety practices. Promotes a culture of safety throughout all of Sharp HealthCare.
