Position Highlights:

Full Time, 40 hours per week, 1st shift:

8:00 am - 4:30 pm or 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, with on-call coverage as needed

Location: Albert J. Solnit Children's Center - South Campus in Middletown, CT

Your role as a Director of Nursing 2 ()

You would be entrusted to direct nursing services by ensuring that nursing professional practices comply with appropriate standards of delivery for evidence-ba sed patient-centered care in our hospital. Additionally, along with other duties as assigned, w e would empower you to:

Direct staff and operations of the nursing department

Coordinate, plan and manage nursing activities including making staff assignments

Formulate program goals and objectives

Develop or assist in the development of related policy incorporating current nursing research and professionally rec ognized standards

Evalua te staff

Prepare or assist in the preparation of the nursing budget

Maintain contacts with individuals within and outside of department who might impact

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

In the Departments of Children and Families, Correction, Developmental Services, Mental Health and Addiction Services and Veterans Affairs this class is accountable for directing nursing services by ensuring that nursing professional practices comply with appropriate standards of delivery for evidence-based patient-centered care within an assigned region, a large hospital division, a medium-sized hospital or for statewide services.
