The Director of Nursing Support Services is responsible for coordinating hospital professional nursing practice, and supporting departmental staffing and hospital operations.

**Responsibilities**

Responsible for the daily oversight of staffing operations for the entity to include but is not limited to providing leadership for the house supervisors/administrators, management of contingency labor, serving as the local Care Value Administrator if applicable, local staffing pools and collaborates with clinical leaders to ensure 24/7 staffing plans are developed to meet the care needs of patients.

Collaborates with the Patient Placement Center to ensure bed placement guidelines are developed and implemented; leads organizational throughput efforts

Collaborates with other clinical leaders to advance clinical process, system improvement, and sharing of resources

Leads specific clinical and operational projects inclusive of action planning and implementation and outcome achievement; collaborates with all disciplines across the entity inclusive of medical staff

Collaborates with the Magnet Program Director to ensure a consistent state of readiness or is responsible for the coordination of the Pathway and or Magnet Program(community hospitals); may include responsibility for National Sensitive Nursing Quality Indicators capture, submission and monitoring

Serves as a clinical resource; supports and leads quality initiatives.

Supports and mentors shared decision making process and clinical advancement philosophy; supports shared governance structures and professional practice

Utilizes lean principles to foster operational improvement in patient centeredness, quality of care and cost effectiveness.

Maintains knowledge of regulatory requirements and seeks to keep clinical areas continuously in compliance.

**Qualifications**

Required Educatiuon and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing ( **BSN** ) and 5 years of leadership experience

Or

Master's Degree and 3 years of leadership experience (if Master's Degree is not in Nursing must have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing)

**Pay Range**

$49.20 - $71.34 /hour
