**Responsibilities**

**JOB SUMMARY:**

This position is responsible for planning, directing and evaluating the systems, operations and resources for patient care services/activities for the critical care/medical-surgical/emergency/respiratory care departments of the assigned hospital campus in accordance with established business objectives, clinical/professional standards and applicable regulatory requirements. Work may also include direct management of hospital resource nurses and overseeing the care value system as site coordinator and Vocera as the tiered administrator. An incumbent manages activities through subordinate management staff and ensures consistent performance/integration of patient care processes across assigned clinical departments.

Work also includes: 1) developing and administering the budget for the assigned functions; 2) ensuring high quality patient care and that quality assurance/regulatory/accreditation standards are followed; 3) developing/facilitating performance/process improvements to improve clinical/service outcomes, 4) monitoring daily patient care/satisfaction and physician concerns and resolving escalated issues; and 5) coordinating/integrating patient care services with finance, quality, safety/risk management and human resources functions to ensure compliance with all standards and guidelines. An incumbent collaborates extensively with hospital executive management in promoting operational excellence towards the standardization, integration and enhancement of the continuum of services available.

Job duties require considerable knowledge of the specialized principles and practices related to health care management in order to evaluate and make viable recommendations in support of clinical effectiveness, service delivery and organizational performance improvement. Performance improvement efforts cover a variety of areas, and an incumbent must be sufficiently knowledgeable to recognize important synergies and opportunities in clinical/service outcomes, cost containment, patient safety/satisfaction, risk reduction and regulatory compliance

**Qualifications**

**MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:**

**Education/Work Experience Requirements**

Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field, graduation from an accredited school of nursing, and seven years of progressively responsible related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities, -including- four years in a leadership capacity.

**Pay Range**

$68.76 - $99.70 /hour
