United Memorial Medical Center (UMMC) has been serving residents of Genesee County and surrounding rural communities since its inception as Batavia Hospital in 1902. STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: United Memorial Medical Center

DEPARTMENT: Med/Surg (Second and Third Floor)

SCHEDULE: Evening/Night (3-12 hour shifts from 7p-7a with 4 weekend shifts per month)

*No day shift currently available*

ATTRIBUTES

Bachelors degree in nursing preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively teach.
Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment that supports quality care/service and staff empowerment.
Self-directed individual with high organizational and priority setting abilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma or Associates degree in nursing required.
3-5 years of acute care experience required.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Rounds on each unit throughout the shift to include charge nurse and staff nurse communication to review priority and expected needs of the patients and staff.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage job related stressors and constructive feedback during intra/interdepartmental relations.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in meeting staffing needs throughout the organization.
  • Participates in problem-solving activities at the unit level by identifying the problem and collaboratively working toward resolution.
  • Provides input regarding protocols, policies and procedures to immediate supervisor.
  • Provides respect for Patients rights by maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information, responding to their right to know and acting as a patient advocate.
