The Clinical Placement Specialist supports the clinical placement process, including recruitment and retention for approximately 500 undergraduate and graduate students. They work with hospitals and other clinical sites to secure and/or finalize preceptors/placements. Under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Clinical Placement and Community Partnerships and Assistant Director, this position is responsible for maintaining relationships between students, faculty and clinical partners in the New England region.

Recruitment and Retention:

Coordinates details of clinical agency placement process for undergraduate, pre-licensure, and graduate programs. Utilizes CCP to request and manage the group placement process and graduate preceptorship process. Assists in all facets of the placement process working with hospitals, clinical agencies, faculty, staff and students. Responsible for managing the details of the undergraduate groups, Synthesis and POP Health placements, and graduate preceptorships .. Works to develop additional group(s) as needed (6 -7 students) and community (one-on-one with an RN) placements. Generates and tracks all clinical agency requirements and works with students to communicate credentialing needs. Supports Assistant Director with ad-hoc projects and BORN reporting requirements.

Internal Relationship Management:

Assists Teacher of Record for Pedi, Psych, Adult Health, OB, Community and Synthesis with management of complex placement process. Communicates with clinical faculty to obtain and clarify information needed for both agency and student placement process. Also communicates with Program Directors from six graduate specialties to assist in the placement process.

Administrative Support:

Coordinates meetings and special events. Organizes and maintains Clinical Placement agency documents and files. Reviews, updates, and organizes the Assistant Director's office file system. Trains, supervises, and plans work for the work-study students. Participates in meetings to assist with problem-solving related to the clinical process and database related tracking of placements. Assists in generating and tracking clinical agency contracts involving phone and email correspondence with hospitals, agencies and community partners. Supports details of clinical agency placement process for graduate and undergraduate programs. Prioritizes tasks to manage emails, phone calls, and visitors. Interacts with students to obtain appropriate documentation needed for clinical placements including immunizations and hospital specific forms.

Credentialing Documentation:

Collaborates with UG and Grad offices to ensure that immunization records and other credentialing documents for UG and Grad students are current to meet the clinical obligations.

Event Planning/Special Projects:

Collaborates with Assistant Director, Clinical Placement and Dean's office to manage details of preceptor rewards/gifts program and special events.

Hiring Range: $26.76/hr to $33.43/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.

**Requirements**

2 years of administrative experience preferably in an academic setting. Preference given to individual experienced with databases and clinical placements in a nursing setting.

Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to understand organizational priorities, and a high degree of flexibility to handle changing priorities. Requires the ability to exercise good judgment and respect for confidentiality and to work both independently and as part of a team (with minimal supervision).

Requires excellent computer skills including proficiency at an intermediate level in MS Word, and Excel. Must demonstrate willingness to learn how to use various clinical placement systems (i. e. InPlace, CastleBranch, and CCP).
