This position is responsible for providing management and oversight of daily Nursing activities to a Nursing Department. The Manager works in partnership with Nursing leadership and other facility management and departments to ensure the provision of optimal patient care, attainment of financial goals, and development of leaders.You.

As a Clinical RN Manager of Obs / CDU, you need to know how to:
- Manage the operation of all technical equipment and the performance of all procedures in the department.
- Evaluate service needs and volumes and adjust staffing levels accordingly.
- Maintain effective and appropriate staffing and staff scheduling to ensure safe, quality patient care.
- Ensure coordination of care with other departments to promote the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
- Manage human resource functions such as interviewing, selection, orientation, education/training, feedback, performance evaluation, and policy and procedure development.
- Maintain personnel files, including documentation of appropriate staff orientation, competency, training, discipline and performance reviews. Oversee department timekeeping and payroll.
- Collaborate with HR concerning employee issues and performance. Conduct employee coaching, counselling, disciplinary actions and annual appraisals. Monitor staff adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Oversee and manage instrument service contracts. Ensure equipment is maintained and functioning properly.
- Partner with the department director and leadership team to identify and drive quality and performance improvement initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing, required
- Current RN license or compact license with the ability to obtain RN license, required
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required
- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical RN experience, required- Minimum of (3) years of experience in progressive RN leadership positions, required
Physical Requirements:
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- and -May be expected to stand in a stationary posCompensation Information:
