Position Overview/Summary:
The Obstetrics Nurse Educator is integral to the interdisciplinary team, working in tandem with unit leaders and nursing personnel within the Obstetrics Unit to oversee patient care and bolster clinical support, thereby enhancing patient care and clinical outcomes. The essence of this role is to foster excellence in nursing practices. The Obstetrics Nurse Educator will apply the nursing process to aspects of clinical practice, educational initiatives, competency assessment, and program innovation, serving as a paradigm of this methodology for direct-care staff. The position encompasses clinical advisement and hands-on patient care, with a focus on evaluating and refining the care protocols for specialized patient groups. In addition, the Obstetrics Nurse Educator will partner with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to promote and integrate evidence-based practices among the nursing staff.
Essential Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably within an Obstetrics Unit setting is preferred
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is a must
Prior experience in a nurse education role is advantageous
