Description
Assists in directing and the administration of the clinical operations and patient care for inpatient and ambulatory care areas. Oversees daily operations in conjunction with nurse managers. Ensures that nursing and clinical practice occur in accordance with the philosophy, standards, and mission of the Nursing Institute.
**Responsibilities:**
Supervises nurse managers, educators, clinical specialists, and staff of the inpatient and ambulatory care units.
Works in collaboration with Nursing Director regarding budget review, personnel management, monitoring of productivity and staff development.
Provides leadership, guidance, and mentoring to nursing staff.
Ensures communication, cooperation and understanding among staff and monitors adherence to Cleveland Clinic policies and procedures.
Ensures departmental compliance with regulatory and The Joint Commission requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
**Education:**
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
Master's Degree preferred.
Four years recent clinical experience and one year of health care management experience required.
**Certifications:**
Current state licensure as an Registered Nurse (RN).
**Complexity of Work:**
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Work Experience:
Four years of recent nursing clinical experience to include at least one year of healthcare management experience required.
**Physical Requirements:**
Requires the ability to walk to various locations throughout the foundation, normal or corrected vision and hearing, and the ability to work and function in a stressful environment.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
**Personal Protective Equipment:**
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
