The Highlights: Reporting to the Assistant Dean, the Operations Manager is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the College of Computing and Digital Media.
What You'll Do:
- Facility Management:
Monitor physical plant needs and problems ensuring fiscal responsibility and the orderly purchase and use of materials, equipment and supplies; submit work orders as needed; plan and oversee new construction and renovation projects and participate in the final decision making; monitor for ADA compliance; maintain databases for the dupli-key system; grant permissions for building access and ID card assignments; work closely with security providing personnel access information to maintain a safe environment. Perform all Facility Access Manager (FAM) duties and responsibilities. - Faculty/Staff Support:
Provide faculty and staff support for all of the CDM building, four floors in Daley and multiple locations in DePaul Center and Lincoln Park serving as their main contact for facility problems, office re-location and key disbursement; oversee submission of their office/advising hours; assign offices for part-time faculty each quarter. - University Liaison for CDM Operations:
Direct and maintain a strong day-to-day operation network with other university departments that will serve as a vital link for CDM faculty, staff and students; provide access to information, available resources and creative solutions to problems, especially facility problems; act as a principal liaison to university facility operations department - CDM Front Desk Operations:
Hire, train, supervise and evaluate 3-4 student workers; make final decision for hiring and firing; direct payroll reports; monitor workflow for mail distribution, supply inventory and reprographic jobs and maintenance of spreadsheets; schedule assignments for the reception desk; supervise, monitor and train students on the ACD phone system. - Assist Budget Manager: Assist Budget Manager as needed on special projects/requests.
- This position manages 3-4 student workers that serve as the initial contact for CDM current and prospective students.
- Monitors spending around College supplies, facilty work orders, faculty spending.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 3-5 years of related office experience
- 2-3 years of experience in management required
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Ability to work under pressure
- Supportive of team-oriented and collegial culture
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Must exhibit flexibility, adaptability
- Demonstrated skills in creating spreadsheets, databases and word processing documents
- Routinely lift more than 25 lbs
- Regular stops in all 3 Loop campus buildings

The anticipated hiring range for this position is: $56,222.00 to $61,800.00.
The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
