The Highlights:

In accordance with the mission of the Department of Athletics, this position serves as Assistant AD, Marketing & Fan Experience within the guidelines of the NCAA, the BIG EAST Conference, and DePaul University. The position assists with the development and execution of marketing plans and gameday presentations for assigned Olympic sports and will be responsible for achieving attendance and ticket revenue goals through strategic marketing programs, initiatives, promotions, and fan experiences.
 

What You'll Do:

  • For assigned sports programs, develop and execute a comprehensive marketing, promotions, ticket sales, game experience, community engagement, social media, merchandise and email campaign strategy. Support sponsor activations, video board/ribbon board operations, and campus engagement efforts. Support attendance and ticket sales campaigns to meet defined revenue goals. Work closely with the coaching staff of each assigned program to ensure alignment with both the department and team. 
  • As assigned by the Senior Associate AD, Marketing & Communications, serve as lead for strategic marketing programs, initiatives, and marquee department events. Regularly measure and analyze programs and initiatives for effectiveness and impact. Research and present new initiatives for maximum innovation.
  • Oversee Blue Crew, DePaul Athletics' official student group. Ensure the Blue Crew's leadership attends and participates in University Athletic Board (UAB) meetings. Serve as the department's liaison to the Student Government Asssociation (SGA). Collaborate with the BlueCrew, SGA, the Office of Student Involvement (OSI), and Athletics Department leadership to collaboratively lead and execute initiatives which increase student engagement on campus and attendance at sporting events. Lead bus scheduling and operations for students attending men's and women's basketball games at Wintrust Arena.
  • Serve as a liaison between the sports program and the department's community relations unit to enhance the profile of the team's involvement in the community. 
  • Recruit and train student workers for the marketing department. Oversee and coordinate the marketing student internship program and all game day staffing. Review and approve student hours and payroll. 
  • Manage the application process, processing, and fulfillment of all departmental donation requests per NCAA compliance regulations. Solicit, secure, and fulfill group ticket orders for non-profit and elementary school groups to attend DePaul University sporting events in collaboration with the DePaul Ticket Office and NCAA Compliance Office. 
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA rules, policies, and procedures.  Attend and participate in monthly NCAA rules compliance education meetings. 
  • Lead the hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, and payroll approval process for 25-35 student workers within the Athletics Marketing department.
  • Lead marketing plans for assigned sports within the department's allocated budget.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of proven success in marketing, revenue generation, live event production, or other similarly related field, preferably at the NCAA Division I level.
  • Possess a working knowledge of NCAA and University rules and regulations as they apply to intercollegiate athletics.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Must be able to lift marketing materials weighing up to 30 pounds. 
  • Position requires sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time (up to 5 hours), including outdoors in the elements. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies, and methodologies in marketing and community outreach as they apply to intercollegiate athletics preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Dedication to serving the department, the University and the student-athletes with the highest level of leadership, initiative and integrity.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a diverse urban and/or intercollegiate athletics environment.
  • Position requires working evening, weekend, and holiday hours during school year, including several community events in a variety of climate conditions.
  • Must attend all home events for assigned Olympic Sports events. 
  • Occasional travel is required.
