Full-time Faculty Position: Interventional Radiology Denver Health Medical Center

Located in the city of Denver, Denver Health, in collaboration with the University of Colorado School of Medicine, is seeking an Interventional Radiologist to join our team. We offer a stimulating and supportive environment that prioritizes both patient care and physician well-being in state-of-the-art facilities completely renovated in 2021: Interventional Radiology | Denver Health.

Denver Health aims for a world-class interventional radiology (IR) division focused on delivering efficient, productive, and cutting-edge clinical care; a robust and growing educational program for students and residents; and a research portfolio focused on collaboration with others inside and outside the department. The IR section providers are comprised of four full time physicians and one nurse practitioner. With two fluoroscopy suites and a third combined fluoroscopy-CT suite, the section provides the entire gamut of IR procedures including: interventional oncology, men's and women's health interventions, trauma embolization, superficial and deep venous interventions, and musculoskeletal and pain interventions. Clinic and inpatient rounds ensure important longitudinal care for our patients.

All faculty at Denver Health have faculty appointments at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and are valued participants in University and Department of Radiology functions. Faculty have access to the academic and cultural resources of Denver Health, the University, and other affiliate institutions. In addition to direct clinical care, expanded education roles and research opportunities are available for candidates that are interested.

Position Summary

The candidate being sought will participate in the delivery of the full spectrum of interventional radiology services, including staffing of procedures, clinic, inpatient rounds, and multidisciplinary conferences. Denver Health interventional radiologists actively participate in the education of University of Colorado medical students, diagnostic radiology, and integrated and independent interventional radiology residents. The section also serves as a training site for Red Rocks physician assistant students. The IR section, and Department of Radiology as a whole, value patient-centered care and a highly collaborative work environment. There is a strong working relationship with surgery, oncology, medicine, and other services.

The IR section recently completed major renovations in 2021 with the installation of three state of the art Canon fluoroscopy suites one of which is integrated with a CT scanner – the only combined fluoroscopy-CT suite in Colorado. Dedicated provider workspaces complement the fully capable procedure suites. IR is located on the first floor of the main hospital adjacent to the emergency department with easy access to both the medical and surgical intensive care units. The extensive network of outpatient Denver Health clinics and busy ED/inpatient services generate a robust and varied IR practice with over 4500 procedures performed annually.
