Description

The Department of Surgery, Division of Urology at Denver Health Medical Center is recruiting a Chief of Urology. This position emphasizes patient access, high quality surgical care, housestaff and fellow training, and clinical research. The DH program is fully integrated with the Division of Urology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (UCSOM), including utilization of resident staff, clinical responsibilities and research. The Division of Urology at Denver Health is a dynamic group of five providers committed to providing world class urologic care to an urban underserved patient population regardless of ability to pay.

The Chief of Urology will:

  • Have oversight of all care delivered by the Division of Urology
  • Will provide overall strategic leadership of the Division in conjunction with the Department of Surgery leadership
  • They will have responsibility for strategic planning, clinical services, professional performance, medical education, and physician practice
  • Assist with continued support of a research program.
  • Advance multidisciplinary care of patients with urologic diseases
  • Advancing a culture of excellence in urology

As an urban safety net health care system, Denver Health is particularly committed to clinical care and academic activity that advances health equity. Patient access to care is of particular importance. Recruiting a Chief of Urology with interest and experience in urologic care for underserved populations is a high priority. The candidate will have a faculty appointment at the University of Colorado and interface with the division at the school related to collaboration and cross coverage.
