Overview
The Department of Rehab Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is looking for a physical therapist with special interest in neurologic physical therapy to join our outpatient academic hospital setting. You will work with an experienced team of therapists providing exceptional care to a predominantly adult population with neurologic dysfunctions including vestibular, and occasionally oncology and pulmonary dysfunction. While we are serious about our work, we work in a creative, supportive and fun environment that values collaborative care. You will have the opportunity to work with providers from a variety of departments including Neurology and ENT. Amenities associated with urban areas in Boston MA, Burlington, VT and Montreal QC are all within a few hours' drive.
This is for a full-time, benefited, outpatient position with an emphasis on neurologic physical therapy. However, we encourage you to apply if you are looking for an alternative schedule as we have historically been able to accommodate a variety of clinician schedules.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates, diagnoses, determines prognosis and provides high quality, personalized and evidence-based interventions for patients with neurologic conditions, healthy aging and general rehab needs.
- Reports findings to other health care team members through strong communication skills and use of electronic documentation and billing within Epic EMR.
- Promotes patients' healthy lifestyle by improving strength, aerobic capacity, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
- Participates in and supports in-house education, Interdisciplinary ENT, neurology, geriatric meetings, student programs, volunteer/observation and community outreach programs, educating referring providers including residents and fellows.
- Works with a coordinated team of providers to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Determines and implements annual plan for professional development.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree if graduate prior to 2002; minimum of Master's degree if graduating in 2002 or later.
Required Licensure/Certifications
