Seeking an RN to help transform healthcare with their informatics expertise.     POSITION SUMMARY

  • The Clinical Informatics Analyst (CI Analyst) collaborates with all clinical departments and relevant support departments to achieve defined goals to advance the integration of clinical information related to the EHR. Additionally, being responsible for training all nurses and related staff across all facilities. The CI Analyst provides effective communication in coordination with the Director of Clinical Informatics in the deployment of the Excellian Core/Ancillary Clinical applications and coordinates with HR for the provision of accounts for all these applications.

    The CI Analyst achieves in-depth knowledge of the Excellian software and conducts regular day-to-day communication with end users (primarily nurses); performs analysis of workflows, data collection and report details, is responsible for documenting the internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with EMR system applications; serves as a resource to Nurses and staff.

    Provides clinical application support to clinical end users (primarily nurses) located in multiple locations across the network. Diagnoses and troubleshoots issues and provides technical guidance to resolve user issues with clinical applications and workflows. Works closely with offsite technical support to submit and resolve end user issues.

    Reports to the Director of Clinical Informatics.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS   Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years surgical experience is required along with a wide scope of knowledge regarding surgical procedures, physician order development, perianethesia and intraoperative nursing care and regulatory compliance requirements and associated technology use.  Strong preference for skills understanding and navigating the EHR and participation with process improvement projects.
License/Certificates:
  • Registered Nurse license in the state of Minnesota.
Special Skills and Aptitudes:
  • Knowledge of and the ability to use PC-based word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software to create teaching/learning materials and documentation.
  • Strong communication and diplomacy skills required, and must have the ability to build positive working relationships with staff.
  • Works well with a team.
  • Ability to summarize large documents and effectively communicate the important/applicable information in appropriate detail for the different groups within CRMC.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings and with a wide variety of people at different organization levels.
  • Ability to use work time effectively; appropriately organizes and prioritizes work; able to balance multiple tasks and activities.
  • Must handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately.
  • Review and suggest enhancements of existing clinical applications.
  • Ability to properly operate all equipment required for this position.
  • Ability to analyze, design, develop and deliver high quality clinical work flows within CRMC's information systems.
  • Capable of analyzing clinical information and technology needs to deliver timely and efficient solutions.
  • Ability to develop effective training tools for employees on all clinical components.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Works closely with EHR Operations Manager, CRMC managers and clinical staff to understand workflow processes and training needs.
  2. Participates in the development/testing of system upgrades.
  3. Develops and implements training and education programs to provide proficiency in the utilization of clinical applications.
  4. Trains end users on proper use of the application and ensures that education and training needs of the end user are met effectively, efficiently and in a timely manner. And works with department managers to ensure that role specific education training is followed when applicable.
  5. Acts as the subject matter expert for nursing to ensure training quality and consistency.
  6. Responsible for developing the overall training schedule and for securing training facilities.
  7. Responsible for agendas, course materials, job aids and post training competencies that are role-specific.
  8. Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement and offer viable recommendations/options.
  9. Effectively communicates and escalates issues in a timely manner.
  10. Provides new and up to date knowledge database information and follows documented standards for additions/modifications/changes.
  11. Reviews new application enhancements/upgrades and assists in development of implementation plans.
  12. Keeps up to date on changes in regulations that impact the use of our EMR.
  13. Attends and participates in IT and hospital information systems departmental and project meetings relevant to assigned responsibilities and tasks.
  14. Demonstrates Standards of Excellence when other duties are assigned.
