  Director of Pharmacy
Riverview Psychiatric Center - Augusta, ME 
Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center - Bangor, ME

As a full-time, exempt CPS Solutions, LLC Director of Pharmacy, you will oversee all pharmacy operations including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed-upon programs with assistance from a full support team.  This position will provide oversight of all pharmacy operations at Riverview Psychiatric Center and Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center.  This position will spend approximately 60% of the time onsite at Riverview and 40% at Dorothea Dix locations. 

Schedule: This position will work at least 40 hours a week, primarily Monday through Friday. This position will split their time between two (2) sites - Riverview Psychiatric Center - Augusta, Maine (approximately 60%) and Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center (approximately 40%) - Bangor, Maine.

Riverview Psychiatric Recovery Center is a 92-bed, Joint Commission accredited, acute care inpatient psychiatric hospital that works in collaboration with the community is a center for best practice, treatment, education and research, for individuals with serious, persistent mental illness, and co-occurring substance use disorders. CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions, LLC.

Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center formerly known as Bangor Mental Health Institute located in Bangor, Maine is one of two State psychiatric hospitals under the Maine State Department of Health and Human Services. DDPC is a 100-bed, Joint Commission-accredited, psychiatric hospital serving two-thirds of the State's geographic area that provides services for people with severe mental illness. CPS Solutions, LLC has partnered with the hospital to manage the day-to-day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions, LLC.

About the Pharmacies: Both pharmacies are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and utilize Pyxis and Medics systems.  There is after-hours remote coverage from TELEPharmacy as well.

Required Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD)
  • Current Maine pharmacy license in good standing
  • Recent pharmacy management experience (psychiatric setting preferred)
  • 5-7 years of pharmacist experience in an acute care/psychiatric environment
  • Ability to adapt to the needs and pace of the environment
  • Experience with Quality Assurance and Process Improvement teams
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other members of CPS and hospital and pharmacy staff
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to travel between Bangor and Augusta

Hospital Requirements: (may be required)

  • (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
  • (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
  • Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving
  • Hep B3 Series (or declination) 
  • (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th  
  • BCI/FBI background check (required)
