Full-time position to provide safe, quality, basic emergency medical care and transportation under the guidelines of Colorado protocols and Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center standards of care. Maintain equipment and vehicles utilized in providing service.

Salary Range: $24.32 - $34.09 based on qualifications with only benefits required by law.
Requirements:High School diploma OR GED required. Current Colorado Paramedic License is required. Must possess current certification in ACLS and BCLS. Three years of previous EMS work experience is required.
· Respond to requests for emergency medical care, examine patients and report on patient condition to an emergency room nurse or physician via two-way radio or telephone.
· Observes professional ethics in maintaining confidential information concerning the personal, financial, medical, or employment status of a patient.
· Provides reports on the condition of patient/client to the appropriate supervisor and other staff members. Prepare and submit emergency management pre-hospital forms according to policies and procedures including patient records and other forms as requested.
· Comply with established universal precautions and isolation procedures.
· Utilize medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator and EKG monitor, telemetry equipment, oxygen and suction devices, intravenous fluids, injections, CPR and other procedures and medications as required.
· Assess patient's condition/complaints and carry out appropriate basic life support functions.
· Clean interior and exterior of assigned unit daily.
· Ensure all aspects of patient movement including, but not limited to, lifting from the ground, lifting a patient while on the cot, lifting a patient in a stair chair, carrying a patient down step in a stair chair or cot, moving patients from on surface to another is completed in safe and appropriate manner.
· Administer wound care and apply traction and/or splinting.
· Read maps and route ambulance unit as needed.
· Transport patients to medical facilities.
· Complete patient care reports and other related paperwork in a timely manner.
· Assure that emergency vehicles is completely inventoried, stocked and in good running order throughout the work shift.
· Gather patient billing information and appropriate billing signatures.
· Comply with continuing education requirements and maintain all relevant certifications.
· Maintain verbal contact with the Communications Center regarding unit readiness, crew identities, location.
· Demonstrates a flexible attitude and is professional in both appearance and approach.
· May be assigned shift supervisor responsibility including managing shift coverage, delegating tasks, ensuring assignments are completed, adherence to performance standards/policies and reporting any issues to the Emergency Services Manager.
